Hot Pink Eyeshadow

Just a few photobooth pics from today's look.

Soft cut-crease with hot pink eyeshadow, neutral lid with a blue/silver from the inner corner to the first 3rd of the eyelid.  A touch of navy blue in the crease for depth, blended out with one of my favorite transition colors in the universe: Mac Uninterrupted.  Wings, brows & lashes.

All shadows used were from Too Faced's Pretty Rebel palette.  Amazing, by the way.

I kept the skin rather light, allowing some old acne scarring to show through because dammit, it's Sunday and I want to let my skin breathe a little.  Finished off the look with bronzer and a few cream cheek products from The Balm's How 'Bout Them Apples palette.

Quick slick of Illumasqua's Intense Lip Gloss in Indulge and voila, hot pink monochromatic makeup.

Cat was jumping into the shot because I had a plate of food under me so he had to endure a few snapshots.

Slacking off and Halloween Photos from 2013.

Woww.  I'll be the first one to admit that I forgot about this blog.  I slacked off and the idea and passion for this blog got lost in between my mental couch cushions.

NO MORE SLACKING! I'm officially back on my makeup grind.  Here are some GORY pictures of Halloween makeup I did last year.

I used all Kryolan products; Cinewax, Fake Blood, and bruise wheel.  I love it when you get awesome results from just a few products!

This isn't the glamour makeup you're used to seeing from me, this is a whole different beast.

Please excuse the "bloody" handmarks and blood splatter on my shoulder, I wanted my boyfriend to feel involved in the makeup process so I let him help out.

THIS IS HALLOWEEN MAKEUP.  It's quite gory; you have been warned.

Thanks for reading!

dupes!

i was lusting after the infamous dior amber diamond and ended up finding a dupe! mac's mineralized skin finish in PEARL!  it definitely depends on how much of the inner color you use but pearl is pretty darn close and looks fantastic on the skin.  Sadly, the msf is limited edition but it's replacing my HG highlighter (theBalm's Mary Lou-manizer) for now.  OBSESSED.  ALSO, at sally beauty supply, Beautique's lipliner in "Natural"is really darn close/almost exactly the same as mac's "stripdown" lip liner.

BANGIN' hot pink and purple look

Yeah, I got bangs yesterday...it's a big change for me so I don't know if I really like it yet but it's starting to grow on me.  I feel like they make me look sassier or more asian.  Anyway, this is a look I did today because I felt like using bright colors.
Face: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation
          The Balm Time Balm concealer
MAC MSF Natural in Light Medium to set

Eyebrows: MUFE eyebrow corrector

Eyes: UDPP in Sin
           Revlon Mineral Finishing powder (highlight)
           NYX e/s in Cherry (lid)
           MAC e/s in Sketch (crease)
Wet 'n' Wild cream eyeliner in black

Cheeks: MAC MSF Natural in Medium Dark (contour)
               MAC blush in Warm Soul

I decided not to go with mascara (wouldn't be visible on my eyes anyway unless I glob on 5 coats) or falsies.  I think it looks fine without it but if you want to add it, by all means go for it.

TIP for pink/red eyeshadows:  To avoid looking like a clown or that you have pink eye, remember to not go too much above the crease with the color and use eyeliner!

casual cute look

Ok, so you wanna look like a diva during the day but you don't want to pack on the makeup or look like you're trying way too hard.
This is a a pretty simple makeup look, using neutral colors and soft winged eyeliner on the eye, peachy blush, and bronzed glowing skin.  I center parted my hair (haven't done that since I was like 9!) and curled my hair with a flat iron.
It's glam without going full on dramatic eyes and big hair.  To make the hair more casual or work/school appropriate, you can always clip back your hair.

Will post products soon!

haul/review

In the past few weeks, I've gotten a few things from Sephora and Walgreens.  I bought these things with my own money and these are my personal opinions on them.

First up is the Make Up For Ever eyebrow corrector in 03 ($19).
(This is a picture off the Sephora website of a lighter shade)

Having like three eyebrow hairs on each eyebrow, I was SO PUMPED when I heard about this product.  It's supposed to be waterproof, long-wearing, and a one-step process.  What got me really excited about this was that you apply it with an angled brush and you're done, no need to set with a powder.  Usually, I have to spend like 15 minutes on my eyebrows going over them with a waxy taupe pencil, 2 different brow powders, and sometimes an additional dark eyebrow pencil for definition.  This eyebrow corrector has replaced all of that.  I'm not going to say that this is the best eyebrow product out there but I'm going to say that it's pretty damn good.  It's SOOOO pigmented so all you need is a teeny tiny drop of it.  It's got a gel consistancy which dries and sets onto your skin.  Since I have almost no eyebrows at all, it's pretty easy for me to go overboard and get the drawn-on look but MUFE eyebrow corrector looks really natural.  The color is buildable so it's easy to do a sheer wash of color or go darker.  As for the longevity of the product...I'd say it's got amazing staying power so long as I don't scratch/rub/touch my eyebrows.  If I do happen to touch them, they still look good for the most part but it will rub off if you're not careful.  All in all, I would definitely repurchase.

Korres Watermelon Lightweight Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free spf 30 in 02 Honey ($28)

I bought this because the Revlon Colorstay foundation I was using was majorly clogging my pores and making me break out.  I was hoping that an all natural tinted moisturizer would improve my skin and replace that awful shit I was using before.

The only bad thing I have to say about this tinted moisturizer is that they only come in 3 colors which are all really yellow based which may not suit all skin colors/ undertones.  It smells ok, kind of like candy that is watermelon flavored.  It's all natural and has no parabens in it which is awesome.  The consistancy and coverage is more like a foundation.  It's pretty runny but gives almost medium coverage.  When it dries, it almost sets onto your skin and gives you a really dewy finish.  For a more sheer look, I use my fingers and for more coverage, I use a foundation brush.  Out of curiosity, I tried to layer it a little bit and that was a BIG mistake.  It started to move and condense the initial layer into weird gluey mess and I had to spray some MAC Fix+ to try and save it (which worked).  I don't consider this an issue because you're probably not going to need to layer a tinted moisturizer (just use a concealer!)  Again, I would definitely repurchase.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara in Very Black Intense ($7ish, I got it on sale)

FALSIES MY ASS.  I've got short sparse straight eyelashes that don't keep curling well so maybe I had invested too much hope in this but this mascara is a waste of money in my opinion.  It did not work for me at all.  It does give some length but after two coats, any curling I did completely falls and it clumps easily.  One good thing I noticed is that I didn't get too much "raccoon eyes" at the end of the day.  It's hard for me to find a mascara that I like but this is not one of them.  Will not repurchase.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Very Cherry (almost $8 but I got it for 40% off at Walgreens)

I saw these super rich lipsticks on sale at Walgreens and I just had to get one.  I chose a blue-ish red in Very Cherry.  It's really creamy and moisturizing with really nice color pay-off.  I loooove the packaging and they have a good range of colors.  The only percievable downside to these lipsticks is that they stain.  I haven't had a chance to test it's staying power but so far, I really like this lipstick.  Would repurchase.

Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick in Va Va Violet (almost $8 but again, 40% off)

I got this lipstick in a dark purple shade (it's got some red in it) and it is an awesome dark lipstick.  It's not as creamy or pigmented as the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick but it gives a really beautiful look.  I pretty much only like this lipstick because of the color, it comes off sort of sheer after one swipe but is a buildable color.   Nothing super amazing about this lipstick aside from the color.  It's not very moisturizing and can be a little dry.   It also stains my lips.   I would not repurchase in any of the other colors besides this one.

Well, that's all for my haul/review!
I will be doing a look using Va Va Violet so stay tuned!

bad girl makeup

So maybe you're not a diva who throws drinks in people's faces at clubs or gets into fist fights on the beach but you can certainly look like you do.  This is a "Bad Girls Club" inspired neutral look that's perfect for school, work, partying, pulling out other people's weaves, sucker punching, and general debauchery.
You don't need to use the exact same products I did; all you really need is a nude shimmery eyeshadow, a neutral brown crease color, and smudgy black eye liner.

Eyes:
UDPP in Sin
MAC pigment in Naked (on the lid and under brow)
MAC e/s in Cork (crease)
Too Faced e/s duo in cocoa puff& honey pot (used cocoa puff in outer corner of my eyes)
MAC Smolder eye liner pencil (waterline, tight line, smudged all around the eye)
*eyeliner should be thinner around the inner corner and get thicker at the outer corner*
MAC e/s in Carbon (to set eyeliner)
Maybelline The Falsies mascara in Very Black

Face:
Korres watermelon lightweight tinted moisturizer oil free in 02 Honey
Maybelline Dream Mousse concealer in Beige Medium
MAC MSF Natural in Medium Dark

Cheeks:
Tarte bronzer in Park Avenue Princess
Rimmel blush in 03 Berry

Lips:
Napoleon Perdis lip gloss in Mauritius

Try this out and let me know how it goes!

an introduction.

Alright.  So you're probably wondering to yourself what this blog is supposed to be about.  The blog spot has something to do with cheese but the header has to do with cats.  Well, which is it?  Cats or cheese?

Neither and both but never together.

I'm probably going to blog here and there about my wonderful fat orange cat, food, makeup, and whatever else I feel like.  But mostly makeup as it tends to consume most of my brain power.

This is my sassy fat cat, Uzi.
When I say sassy, I mean sassy.  He is spoiled rotten and gets whatever he wants whenever he wants.

Anyway, I am totally into the Bad Girls Club Miami right now.  These girls are so crazy.  I haven't seen any other of the Bad Girls Club seasons but Miami is nuts.  I didn't know there were actually people like that in the world.  They are serious divas and they have (sometimes a little too heavy/trashy but nonetheless) awesome makeup.

Makeup tutorial coming soon!
